The warmth and richness of Thai culture is evident throughout the 799-room, 52-suite hotel in its two separate wings - Shangri-La and Krungthep - from traditional teak dining pavilions to the most modern room features. The Krungthep Wing offers 24 serviced apartments for long-term stays. Work to upgrade the wing's restaurants and swimming pool will continue until November and alternative facilities will be available. Recreation facilities include two floodlit tennis courts, two squash courts, a fully equipped gymnasium, an outdoor swimming pool and jacuzzi. Chi, The Spa at Shangri-La, offers diverse treatments based on traditional Asian principles. Guests can enjoy vast culinary choices - an international buffet on board the Horizon, the hotel's private river cruise ship, Italian dishes at Angelini, Thai cuisine at Salathip, Chinese favourites at Shang Palace or Japanese fare at Edogin.
