Bushnell Outdoor Products has this year released the TourV2 laser rangefinder (HK$3,900) with a custom high-tack grip exterior. It's small and weighs just 187 grams, and is powered by a 3-volt battery. It has 5x magnification, PinSeeker technology, a scan mode, in-view LCD screen, measurements in yards and metres and a built-in tripod mount.
Titleist describes its new AP (advanced performance) family of irons as its most technologically advanced. The AP1 (HK$9,600 in steel, HK$12,000 in graphite) and AP2 (HK$12,800 in steel, HK$15,200 in graphite) feature a multi-material construction and dual cavity design for comfort and playability. Four different materials are used in the construction of the AP irons, a steel body, tungsten nickel steel box, central support bar with elastomer cushion and an aluminium cavity plate. The AP1 iron body is cast with 431 stainless steel, while the AP2 is forged with 1020 mild carbon steel.
Mizuno has a range of gear designed for maximum comfort on the green. Its latest offerings include golf shoes in black and gold (HK$980-HK$1,180) and gloves in white and black featuring a double strap (HK$95-HK$150). It also has a new range of golf balls (HK$180 for a dozen), the Cross Eight S201 and D201, with new core construction for long distance.
Oakley's new sunglasses, the Flak Jacket Brown Smoke Frame with VR50 photochromic lenses (price on request), feature advanced lenses that enhance green and red light. This increases contrast and helps spot irregularities on the fairways. The lens technology adjusts the tint to changing light conditions, from shaded terrain to direct sunlight, so you can wear them all day.
Fila's hip new ladies golf jacket (HK$3,280) and men's golf vest (HK$2,380) are in light, breathable and water-resistant fabrics. They are in traditional golf white but feature gold detailing on the zippers, black edging on the vest, and sparkling gold knit blends on sleeves and waist of the jacket.
