Discussion on fish trawling ban
The Food and Health Bureau said the plans to outlaw fish trawling in Hong Kong were preliminary proposals, which would be subjected to discussions with fishermen groups and green groups. The scheme, outlined in a consultation paper drafted by the bureau's Committee on Sustainable Fisheries, was expected to draw opposition from fishermen who would lose their livelihoods.
