Animal stories - short and sweet

The Tale of Chester Choi The Tale of Run Run Rat

Sarah Brennan

Sarah Brennan returns with yet more amusing and truly enjoyable children's stories in rhyme. Her characters come to life with the help of illustrator and South China Morning Post cartoonist Harry Harrison.

Both short stories are based on the mainland and feature animals as the main characters.

Run Run Rat revolves around an overachieving rat who is determined to find fame and glory. And where better to find this fame and glory than at the Beijing Olympics?

Brennan's Tale of Chester Choi is about a Chinese dragon called Chester Choi, who is lonely and badly needs a friend.

He has spent a lifetime eating children for dinner. However, all this changes when the dragon realises children are far more fun when they are alive than when they are dead. The rhyming sequences make the stories flow smoothly while the illustrations are extremely eye-catching.

Don't let the large letters and comical cartoons fool you into thinking Brennan's stories are only for children. People of all ages will appreciate Chester Choi and Run Run Rat.
