Hong Kong's schlub duo to face off with teams of Asia's rich and beautiful

The third edition of The Amazing Race Asia begins on the AXN channel on Thursday. From what we've seen, most of the teams now consist of perfectly shaped models, actors and beauty queens. Included in the race is a former Miss Universe, a Malaysian heiress and a famous Thai actress. In comparison, Hong Kong's one and only team comprises a couple of schlubs. Our two representatives, Vince Matthew Chung (left), a comedian who's part of the TakeOut Comedy stable, and Sam Wu Wei-chang (right), an English teacher at City University, were introduced to the media on Friday afternoon at club Solas.

'We like to think we're the comic relief,' Wu joked. 'We'll see what gets edited and what gets in. Before the race, we agreed that I would do the mental challenges and Vince, who's more athletic, would do the physical and eating challenges. But in the very first episode we both had to eat a bowl of scorpions and bugs. The producers told us we were the only team that didn't throw up.' But it was not just their stomachs that were tested during the race. 'I hope we're still friends,' Wu said facetiously about the inevitable arguments and stress. 'To me, it felt like whenever we're on the show, the subtitle read: 'currently in last place'.'
