A company director who committed suicide in July owed a Las Vegas casino HK$6.1 million, a writ filed in the High Court says. Wynn Las Vegas filed the writ on Tuesday against Alvin Lau Chiu-leung's estate, alleging that he ran up gambling debts before leaping from the 29th floor of Estoril Court in Mid-Levels. Lau, a director of garment maker Grandway International, received HK$6.8 million in a 2005 credit agreement, but only paid back HK$655,229, the casino claims.
