Hong Kong's boccia team narrowly lost medal chances yesterday in the last two events, leaving it with an overall prize tally of one gold and one silver. Individual gold medallist Karen Kwok Hoi-ying led her teammates to the quarter-finals in the mixed team BC1-2 event but lost 8-4 to Spain. Individual silver medallist Leung Yuk Wing and Paralympics first-timer Vivian Lau Wai-yan competed in the mixed pairs BC-4 event, but despite winning two out of three heats, narrowly lost the quarter-finals. 'We ended up winning one gold and one silver,' said coach Kwok Hart-wing. 'This is already quite a satisfying result.' Hong Kong's next medal chance, wheelchair fencing, begins on Sunday.
