There are two very interesting, but different, contests that we would like to pass along. The first is through the foodie blog WOM (Word of Mouth). Essentially, they are trying to boost traffic, so they are inviting people who sign up as members to pose interesting cuisine or cooking questions to French Michelin chef Pierre Gagnaire.
Three of the best inquiries will be answered by the famous chef and the top inquisitor will win a HK$5,000 meal at his Hong Kong restaurant, Pierre. The other two will get a consolation dining coupon for the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Ten others will receive a copy of the WOM Guide 2009.
More wacky is Madame Tussauds Johnny Depp look-a-like contest. In advance of the unveiling of his wax figure in Hong Kong, the waxworkers are looking for people who look like the Hollywood star.
Five finalists will be chosen to appear at the September 26 unveiling at The Peak, where the winner will be decided.
