Vice-President Xi Jinping yesterday sent a congratulatory telegram to Hong Kong praising what he called the city's 'resounding success' in hosting the Olympic and Paralympic Equestrian Games.
Mr Xi said Hong Kong had won unanimous applause from athletes, coaches, officials and spectators, according to a Hong Kong government press release last night. 'I would like to extend my warm congratulations on the successful games. I would also wish the SAR government and the community would continue with their efforts and work together to promote the prosperity and stability of Hong Kong,' he said.
Chief Executive Donald Tsang Yam-kuen said it had been a great honour for Hong Kong to have been a co-host city for the Games.
