Looking at Stephanie Sun Yan Zi's petite frame, it's hard to believe the Singaporean singer has been practising Thai kickboxing the past three years. But that's exactly what she revealed yesterday afternoon while helping Adidas promote its new seasonal sportswear at Mong Kok's Langham Place.

'Well, it's only on and off,' Sun said. 'I do it whenever I can make the time to do it. I also love to play tennis, swimming and do yoga.'

Sun, who professes to be a sports fan, will be featured in a new advertising campaign about getting physical. At yesterday's event, organisers also set up a mini boxing ring for her to show off her amateur butt-kicking prowess. Apparently, Sun has been wanting to go toe to toe with an actual opponent, but her instructor pooh-poohed that idea.

'He thinks I am too thin and he's worried I might get hit in the face. You have to choose a sport that you like and you'll have fun with. If you think going to a gym is boring, then don't go. But if you suddenly want to go swimming with friends, do it.'

As one of the regional artists who have managed to retain a clean and wholesome image, Sun's becoming more and more popular among advertisers. In fact, she had a tough time thinking about any products she hasn't been hired to promote. 'Is there anything I haven't been the spokeswoman for?' she asked her manager. 'Cigarettes and alcohol. And lingerie. But I think if I were to do a lingerie advert, I would probably need a body double. I am too shy.'

That's what Gillian Chung Yan-tung used to think, too.
