Wynn out to win over MICE

The five-star hotel Wynn Macau is committed to the continued development of Macau as a tourism, and meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions (MICE) destination.

Among the four segments of MICE at Wynn Macau, 'meetings' tops the list with 'incentives' as the second most popular.

Wynn Macau is most sought after for regional banking and financial meetings, and there are also many events hosted by telecommunications and legal firms at the hotel.

Publish Asia 2008, hosted by Ifra Asia in April, was one of the events held at the hotel this year, and The Cross Strait Insurance Seminar, organised by the Macau Insurers' Association, is another that will be hosted by the resort on October30 and 31.

Wynn Macau aims to emulate the philosophy of Wynn Las Vegas with its approach to hosting events, holding firm to the principle that it will provide attention to detail and fully customised service, cater for high-end gatherings and create compact and personalised experiences for exclusive groups.

Since its opening two years ago, customers of Wynn Macau have mostly been international visitors from across the globe, who seek the highest standards in luxury and customer service, according to the company.

Having established itself as a niche luxury operator and the market leader in the industry and vying to hold important, intimate business and travel events, Wynn Macau has an array of world-class facilities to provide quality services for its customers.

Its meeting and conference areas offer state-of-the-art facilities to ensure the convention spaces exceed guest expectations, while the convention area features 2,200 squaremetres of flexible and multipurpose meeting space, according to the company.

The largest function space at Wynn Macau is the 952-square-metre Grand Ballroom which is equipped with a technically supported, theatrical standard stage, allowing a maximum of 1,000 people to enjoy a cocktail party. The Grand Ballroom can also be transformed into a classroom, theatre, or it can hold a banquet.

Meeting rooms, which are fitted with sophisticated audio-visual equipment and internet capabilities, can be split up into flexible spaces to accommodate several groups simultaneously.

Sky Suites and Lake Suites are popular alternative meeting venues at Wynn Macau.

Each is an elegantly designed suite of more than 180 squaremetres, serviced by the banquet service butler and convention services personnel, ideal for intimate executive meetings.

While it is not only the upscale facilities and services that are alluring to customers who choose the Wynn Macau to host their event, the resort's distinctive environment, comfortable accommodation, exciting entertainment and icons - such as its own dramatic Performance Lake and Tree of Prosperity which have become must-see tourist attractions since its launch - have ushered in the resort's position as the market leader in the MICE industry.

The luxurious shopping area in the resort, called Wynn Esplanade, showcases top-notch global retail brands such as Bulgari, Chanel and Christian Dior. All of these had affirmed Macau's future as an entertainment destination and a centre for business and luxury travel, Wynn Macau said.

According to the company, it believes Macau is evolving into an international leisure and travel destination with a growing emphasis on non-gaming sectors, such as high-quality hotel accommodation, luxury retail, fine dining, spa and conventions. The company believes that Macau will continue to see rapid growth and that there is plenty of room to expand its business.

In addition to hosting corporate events, Wynn Macau is active in supporting initiatives that contribute to the transformation of Macau into a world-class business and leisure travel destination.

Wynn Macau was also the title sponsor for the third consecutive year of the Macau International Fireworks Display Contest this month, organised by the Macau Government Tourist Office. The contest has been held on an annual basis since the inaugural event in 1989, and is an equally popular attraction with local residents and visitors to Macau.
