Prestigious hotel takes service to the highest level

Maintaining the status of 'highest, best and most preferred venue' for meetings, conferences and incentives is the goal of Grand Hyatt Shanghai, which was named in the Guinness World Records as 'highest hotel' in 2000.

The accolade means more than just having the best views of Shanghai - it is a philosophy that drives the standards of this five-star 555-room hotel, which towers above the city, crowning the landmark 88-storey Jin Mao Tower.

Since opening in 1999, the hotel has hosted many premiere events, including the Fortune Global Forum, for which Grand Hyatt Shanghai was fully booked by Fortune 500 chief executives and VIPs, and the Computer Associates Conference, both in September 1999. The hotel also hosted the Economist Conference (annually since 1999), Credit Lyonnais Securities Asia China Forum (annually since 2000), whose guest speaker for the 2001 Forum was Bill Clinton, 2001 Apec summit, Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation CEO 2001, Forbes Global CEO Conference 2003 and Harvard Business School Global Leadership Forum in 2004.

Located in the heart of Lujiazui, Shanghai's business and financial district, and five minutes drive from Shanghai International Convention Centre, the hotel is also 10 minutes from tourist attractions and shopping areas.

Grand Hyatt Shanghai's extensive banquet and conference facilities include two ballrooms, for 1,200 and 800 people. In addition, there are 10 function rooms and a concert hall, and an auditorium which seats 390 people. Most of the function rooms are on the first and second level, making it convenient for breakout sessions. The latest state-of-the-art multimedia and video conferencing in multiple rooms and simultaneous interpretations are also available.

The high level of service and quality also reflects in its sister hotel - Hyatt on The Bund - which has an impressive range of options to meet the needs of event organisers. A sprawling 1,859-square-metre meeting facility, with a capacity to cater for 1,210 people, is dedicated for meetings and functions.
