Estranged Twins gauge the public mood at Sichuan charity event

Are they back together again? Last week, Twins Charlene Choi Cheuk-yin (centre) and fallen-from-grace Gillian Chung Yan-tung (left) were seen together in public, only they weren't in Hong Kong. They were in Beichuan , Sichuan province , for a Mid-Autumn Festival charity event sponsored by their management, Emperor Entertainment Group, as a treat for the earthquake-stricken area.

Since being practically run out of town after the Edison Chen Koon-hei sex-photos scandal, the disgraced Chung has retreated to doing a lot of charity and volunteer work as a personal penance, of sorts. Obviously, she's been trying to repair her image with good works, not to mention avoiding the media and unnecessary attention.

Beichuan was the first place Chung and Choi had shared a stage in months. The trip to celebrate the festival with Sichuan residents, joined by fellow Emperor artists such as Yumiko Cheng Hei-yi (right), is also no doubt the firm's way of testing the waters to see if Chung is still persona non-grata with the public or whether fans will accept the Twins regrouping. I betcha if the response is positive, we'll see Chung and Choi in matching costumes on a variety show warbling off-key soon enough.
