The founder of the Guangdong Barbecue Restaurant chain, Lau Yu-cheung, 61, was in critical condition last night after being pulled unconscious from the water at Clear Water Bay Second Beach in Sai Kung at 8am. Mr Lau, who came fourth in his division of last year's open-water swimming championships, got into difficulty after returning from a holiday in the United States with his family.
