Misery loves company, as the saying goes. So it was about time an online social networking site celebrated depression, anxiety and the petty disappointments of everyday life with tongue-in-cheek humour. Launched last month, mychillpills.com combines the core functions of an online community - including blogs, forums and videos - with a focus on mental health issues. Creator Sean Bowen sees the site becoming 'a sort of 'comfort zone' for people who ordinarily wouldn't even talk to their friends or family about these things'. But empathy only goes so far. Bowen insists the site is no substitute for seeing a mental health care specialist; he hopes people will go to see their doctors, and then complain about them online.
