Hundreds of Macau residents queued at branches of Luso International Banking yesterday in a run spurred by Lehman-related rumours. A long queue also formed at a branch of Banco Weng Hang, which is affiliated with Hong Kong's Wing Hang Bank.

Luso International Banking said it had no financial problems and held no assets related to Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch or AIG. Banco Weng Hang also said that it was in good financial health.
