Chief Executive Donald Tsang Yam-kuen has invited the three Chinese astronauts to Hong Kong.

In a letter to President Hu Jintao , he praised the Shenzhou VII mission and proposed a visit.

Lawmaker Timothy Fok Tsun-ting, a Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference delegate, said people wanted to see the space heroes and he hoped news of the visit would complement the National Day atmosphere.

Astronauts from the two previous manned missions, Yang Liwei in 2003 and Fei Junlong and Nie Haisheng in 2005, visited Hong Kong after the Shenzhou V and VI missions respectively.
