Elbow injury means Wong unable to fulfil his engagements

Murray Bell

Terry Wong Chi-wai has been stood down on medical advice from taking his booked rides at Happy Valley tomorrow night.

After riding Industrial Marvel in the opening race at Sha Tin on Sunday, Wong became indisposed after experiencing pain in his right elbow. Club doctors stood him down for the balance of that programme.

Wong accepted four mounts tomorrow night, pending the result of a medical examination yesterday, after which the consulting doctor has again declared him unfit to fulfil his engagements.

The replacement riders are: race 3, Fat Dragon (Mark du Plessis); race five, Opera Magic (Brett Prebble), race seven, Wait For Me (Eric Saint-Martin) and race eight, Friendship (Marco Chui Kwan-lai).
