Argentina here we come

Don't cry for Hong Kong, Argentina - because Tabarak Dar and his men will be going to the ICC World Cricket League Division Three tournament in Buenos Aires in January.

Hong Kong beat Jersey by 100 runs in their last group game to finish in the top two in the six-team division four tournament in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania and advance a step closer to qualifying for the 2011 World Cup.

'I'm proud of the effort from the guys. But the hard work begins now,' said Hong Kong coach Aftab Habib.

Hussain Butt led Hong Kong's successful qualifying charge against Jersey, cracking a superb 99 in a total of 234 all out.

Butt was unlucky to be dismissed one run short of a well-deserved century when he was run out at the non-striker's end after the bowler had deflected a straight drive by Irfan Ahmed on to the wicket.

'It was a fantastic knock considering how slow the wicket was. He played really well and deserved a century. It was a match-winning innings,' Habib said.

Butt received good support from Skhawat Ali (47) as the pair put on a valuable 119 runs for the fifth wicket and lifted Hong Kong from a precarious 35 for three.
