The folks who opened Soho's Duke's Burger have now started a New York-style deli at Two Chinachem Plaza in Sheung Wan. With the US presidential election less than three weeks away, Duke's Deli, entering the campaign as a new candidate for your lunch and dinner vote is kicking off a cheeky promotion. Starting today it is inviting patrons to 'vote with their stomachs' with four menu items whose names have been electorally tweaked. So, if you're Democrat-leaning, you can register your desire for change with the Obamacaroni And Cheese or the Sloppy Joe Biden sandwich. If you're a conservative eater, then perhaps a slice of Plain McCain pizza is your ticket. Maybe you just don't care about substance but can't resist something sweet and frivolous. Then, perhaps the Palin chocolate mousse will make your mouth water. No doubt it'll be interesting to tally Hong Kong's deli preference at Duke's after November 4. There was a rumour that it had also planned a George W. Bush Special but everyone agreed it was really dumb and lame, and everyone would regret ordering it.
