Connecting with teens around the world
Name Emilio Agustin
City Santa Rosa, Argentina
I live in Santa Rosa, a city in central Argentina with population of about 100,000.
I study 12 subjects in school. I think my school life is quite tough. Classes start at 7am and end at 2pm. Sometimes I have to stay home for the rest of the day to finish my homework.
My first language is Spanish. I also speak English and a little French.
In my free time, I hang out with my friends and chat, go for ice cream or watch a movie. At the weekend we go dancing at a disco and make new friends.
We have several festivals which celebrate harvest and a lot of music festivals. Christmas and New Year are the two most important celebrations. People eat a lot and put on fireworks displays.
I visited the United States with my family when I was eight. But I haven't travelled much, and I had never been to Hong Kong before joining AFS Intercultural Exchanges.
Teenagers in my country are really independent and they are given the freedom to make their own decisions. We tend to be happy individuals who enjoy life.
In the future, I want to study medicine and work with international organisations that help the poor and needy around the world.
