No traditional wedding dress for Karen Lam

Now that Kelly Chen Wai-lam is finally hitched, the next local celebrity wedding on the paparazzi radar is Canto-pop singer Edmond Leung Hon-man's scheduled walk down the aisle with girlfriend and former model Karen Lam Man-wai (left).
Although retired from the catwalk for over 10 years, Lam decided to show up at the opening of Landmark's Private Shop last week. Curiously, it wasn't to talk about her nuptials though. Perhaps she was just checking out some honeymoon wear. When pressed by journalists, Lam was reluctant to reveal much.
'We are still getting things organised,' the media-shy Lam said. She added she's still nervous about the wedding and originally didn't want a large affair.
'In the beginning Edmond and I were planning to just get married on our next vacation,' she said.
But that idea has been scuttled, and celeb friends like Andy Hui Chi-on, William So Wing-hong, Hilary Tsui Ho-ying and Josie Ho Chiu-yee will be among the guests at a lavish event at the Island Shangri-La Hotel on December 18.
Yet there is one custom Lam will be abandoning for her big day.
'I won't be wearing a traditional Chinese wedding dress. Instead I will be wearing a white wedding gown,' she said.
