Driver charged after death of 19 in May crash

A coach driver, 33, was charged yesterday with dangerous driving causing death after a crash in Sai Kung on May 1 left 19 people dead and 43 injured. Police said the man, surnamed Hung, would appear in Kwun Tong Court today. The coach was carrying 61 members of religious group Shinji Shumeikai when the driver lost control on a roundabout at the junction of New Hirams Highway and Nam Pin Wai Road, causing it to flip over and hit a barrier.
