A plum role is on offer for individuals with a nose for business development within the banking and finance industry.

A dynamic organisation with a reputation as a leading provider of computer training and conference, seminar and video conferencing facilities needs a senior business development manager.

With a genuine commitment to quality and superior customer service, the company is looking for the right person to develop the finance and banking industry sector in Hong Kong.

'The daily routine for this business development role will be calling and meeting clients, drafting proposals, negotiating proposals with both internal and external clients,' said Nicole Lui, the manager, information technology and telecommunications, sales and marketing, at recruitment specialist Robert Walters Hong Kong.

'Reporting to the head of business development, Asia, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining key account relationships within the financial services sector,' Ms Lui said.

'With strong business acumen, you will create and execute revenue strategies for major accounts, have solid experience in account planning and an ability to identify long-term business opportunities for the sector,' Ms Lui said.

The successful candidate will contribute to the growth and strategic direction of the company's business in Hong Kong.

'Your passion for market development, along with your prospecting and networking skills, will be required to grow new business across multinational organisations,' she said.

'Most importantly, you must bring in business and revenue to the company.'

An excellent salary package and benefits, as well as good support will be offered to the successful candidate by this well-known multinational company. There is no travel involved as this is a local role.

The ideal applicant is a senior sales professional with a university degree. A proven background and success in business development is a must for this challenging role.

'Applicants should have at least eight years of solid experience in dealing with clients in the banking and finance sector,' Ms Lui said.

'To qualify for this role, you must be an aggressive sales professional with an in-depth understanding of the internal structures of banking and financial institutions and their decision-making process,' she said.

Applicants should therefore have sound knowledge of the structures, trends and drivers of the banking and finance industry.

Experience in managing key clients and overall profitability is vital to this role, as is a proven track record in achieving or exceeding targets.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate excellent presentation and communication skills at a senior level.
