Toradora

The two most feared students in high school team up to help each other out in the romance department. Will these wannabe Cyrano de Bergeracs succeed, or will this turn into a comedy of errors?

Original created as a light novel series in 2006, Toradora is written by Yuyuko Takemiya with illustrations by Yasu. The series was eventually made into a manga and published in anthology magazine Dengeki Comic Gao!, moving to Dengeki Daioh a year later.

Anime production is being handled by J.C. Staff, whose previous productions include Honey and Clover, Nodame Cantabile and Azumanga Daioh.

Ryuji Takasu would be your typical high schooler if he hadn't inherited his father's frightening Yakuza looks, causing everyone who meets him to quake with fear.

The start of the new school year brings new problems for Ryuji in the form of the pint-sized Taiga Aisaka, known throughout the school as the Palmtop Tiger. Taiga is so petite Ryuji doesn't even notice her until he walks into her.

But the students around them are terrified by the potential cataclysmic clash of the titans. Ryuji goes down with a single punch, proving his scary reputation to be nothing more than baseless rumours and confirming that Taiga's is justly deserved.

But when each learns the other is interested in their best friends, they put their differences aside. Perhaps predictably, the arrangement tilts in Taiga's favour, as Ryuji effectively becomes her servant.

Look out for this hilarious romantic comedy when it comes out on DVD soon.
