Barack Hussein Obama II, born August 4, 1961, is the 44th and current President of the United States, and the first black US president. He defeated Republican rival John McCain in the general election of 2008, and was inaugurated as president on January 20, 2009. Obama was named the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize laureate in October 2009. He was re-elected president in November 2012, defeating Republican nominee Mitt Romney.
A big-money bet on the US election? We'll drink to that!

Somebody will be on the hook for a lot of drinks at Langham Place Hotel's Japanese restaurant, Tokoro. It seems a few high rollers were dining in the Mong Kok venue and two of them started a vigorous debate on the US presidential election.
One was adamant Barack Obama would win in a landslide and the other was sure John McCain would pull a comeback. Anyway, they decided to put their credit cards where their mouths were and made quite a serious bet.
Whoever is wrong will buy every person in the restaurant/bar a drink, and the offer will be good for the rest of the year. So if Obama wins tomorrow, all you have to say is 'put it on Henry's tab' and your first drink is free, or 'put it on Wilson's tab' if McCain is president. What might have started as a quiet bet between two guys has now become news spreading like wildfire.
Tokoro was so inundated with calls to verify the bet that it has put a note on its website to confirm the wager exists. The bar/restaurant even has signed statements from both parties agreeing to pay the final bill. The first-drink-free deal lasts until December 31.
