Hong Kong has an acute shortage of organs. Therefore, I believe such a system would greatly increase the number of organs suitable for transplants. This can save a lot of lives.

Once a person is dead, their body will decompose and all their organs will be destroyed.

Those organs can be preserved and used to save lives.

Death is a topic that many people avoid. Not many of us take the initiative to sign an organ donation card.

The 'presumed consent' system can solve the problem for people who want to preserve their whole body after death or are unwilling to donate their organs. They still have the right to refuse to be an organ donor by registration.

Everyone likes to succeed in life. They want to have lots of money and be respected in society.

Many people say you can achieve this by studying hard. I agree, but that's not the only way.

Success is not related to your wealth or authority. You need to lead a meaningful life. It's not difficult. First, set a target and achieve it. Second, give a helping hand to others. Third, be optimistic and happy, and enjoy your life.

Keep away from drugs, stay healthy

Drug abuse among teenagers is getting worse. There are several reasons behind this trend.

Parents are paying less attention to their children. They might meet people who ask them to do bad things.

It is also easy to buy drugs from friends. Youngsters should realise that drugs can damage their health.

Another problem is young addicts encourage their friends to take drugs.

The government and schools should take immediate action to tackle the problem.

Be good, teachers will be happy

Students in Hong Kong have a tough time.

They say students in other countries have less homework and less pressure.

I think being a teacher in Hong Kong is much more difficult than being a student. You may have to do only one piece of homework. But the teacher has to check the work of about 40 students.

They need to correct your spelling, punctuation and grammar. Some essays are meaningless, but teachers still have to go through them.

I think we must respect our teachers. Be a good student. Then teachers will have less work.

Fruit money only for those in need

Chief Executive Donald Tsang Yam-kuen has increased the Old Age Allowance, also known as fruit money, to HK$1,000 a month, with no means test.

I agree the government should pay more attention to the elderly.

Some of them collect newspapers, aluminium cans and plastic bottles and sell them to recycling companies to earn some extra money.

Some people say it is disrespectful to carry out an assets test on the elderly. I disagree.

The number of Hong Kong people aged 65 or above will reach 2.18 million in 2033.

They will pose a huge financial burden on the government. Therefore, the fruit money should be paid to those in genuine need.

Parents responsible for children's actions

I believe parents should be legally responsible for their children's actions.

Some people say 'education begins in kindergartens or primary school'.

This is not true because education really begins at home. Parents are the first 'teachers' of their children.

Parents have the duty to monitor their children's development, both morally and physically.

They need to give their children their fullest support. This does not only mean only providing food, clothing, shelter and medical care to their children.

Children should be taught to get along with others and behave well.
