Taiwanese actress and variety show host Barbie Hsu Hsi-yuan is known for her dedication to maintaining her youthful appearance. Here's the way she does it:

'Both my parents have flawless skin and I thank them for their good genes. Still, I strongly believe in a healthy diet and a daily skin-care routine, which are the two most vital ways in which I maintain my skin.

'I take a lot of supplements. I think women should start taking a supplement when they reach 28, which is what I did. I also take vitamin C, E and D3, calcium, grape seed extract and a Chinese herbal drink containing angelica root, wolfberry and red dates which are very effective in improving a pale complexion. The pills and herbal drink are basically my breakfast and I drink at least two-thirds of a bottle of water while taking those supplements.

'During the drier days in winter, I take bird's nest first thing in the morning. I mix two tablespoons of bird's nest with some fresh soy milk or fresh milk. After a week or two of drinking bird's nest, you will definitely notice a significant change in your skin. It will become radiant with a natural glow.

'No matter how good your diet is, if you don't clean your skin thoroughly every day, it gets damaged easily. Don't neglect removing makeup every day and make sure every bit comes off before washing your face. Do it gently, as if your skin were about to break. Many people wash their faces or apply skincare products too roughly. Not only they have wasted the products, but it can make their skin look worse.'
