Classes suspended after 34 pupils fall ill

St Margaret Mary's Catholic Kindergarten in Wan Chai was advised to suspend classes for a week after 34 pupils developed symptoms of upper respiratory tract infection. Five of the pupils, aged four to five, were admitted to hospital and are in stable condition, and one was discharged. Tests showed the presence of adenovirus, that causes respiratory infection. A Centre for Health Protection spokesman said it advised the school to suspend classes until Wednesday.
