Model swears busty flag show was about unity, not division

Entertainers need to watch their step, especially when it comes to fashion. Remember the anger caused a few years ago when mainland actress Vicky Zhou Wei wore a dress displaying the Japanese military flag?

Now, Taiwanese model-cum-actress Yuni Li Yen-chin, 23, has made a somewhat more sensible fashion statement, though it still might not be the most appropriate. Appearing at a public event recently, she wore a revealing strapless red dress. What made it stand out were the two flags covering each of her breasts - the Chinese flag on the right and the Taiwanese flag on the left.

Li humbly said she knew nothing about politics and had picked the dress hoping the two flags covering her sensitive parts would signify peace across the straits. However, the dress was so revealing that her bra was showing at one point.

Not everyone would agree with displaying the flags in such a sexy way, but at least Li was politically correct - just like women's breasts, the mainland and Taiwan belong together as one entity.
