Motorcyclist hurt in crash
A 29-year-old motorcyclist was critically injured in a crash on Kwai Chung Road early yesterday morning. Police said the driver lost control of his motorcycle and slid more than 20 metres along the road after a fall at about 3am. He was taken to Princess Margaret Hospital with head injuries, where he was in critical condition last night.
Seven men attack youth
A 17-year-old youth was attacked by seven men and had his mobile phone stolen in Tsz Wan Shan. The youth was walking along Hammer Hill Road at about 1am when he accidentally bumped into one of the men. An argument ensued and the teenager was attacked as he tried to call police on his cellphone. He was treated for minor injuries. No one was arrested. Police are investigating the incident.
Man falls from building
Police are investigating the death of a man who fell from a building in Chai Wan. The body of the man, whose identity is still unknown, was found lying outside Hang Tsui Court.
Taxi driver in fare scuffle
A taxi driver scuffled with his passenger over a fare in Ho Man Tin. The scuffle occurred at about 7am when the taxi arrived at Hok Yu Lane and the passenger, who was apparently drunk, refused to pay the fare and punched the driver in the face. Both men later received treatment at Kwong Wah Hospital and were discharged. Police said no charges had been laid or arrests made.
52-year-old breaks leg in fall
A 52-year-old man broke his left leg in a fall from a container in Yuen Long. Police said the man was working on the top of a container in a yard on Ping Ha Road at about 5.30pm when he lost his footing and fell. He was in a stable condition in Pok Oi Hospital.
Snake found in hospital
A snake was found inside Yan Chai Hospital in Tsuen Wan. The snake, more than half a metre long, was discovered by a patient at about 6pm. Police and a snake-catcher called to the hospital found the snake. It was identified as a bamboo pit viper.
