Zhou loss spells end of HK hopes

Hong Kong's hopes in the China Open Super Series came to an end with the exit of Zhou Mi in the quarter-finals yesterday. The women's singles top seed was no match for mainlander Zhu Jingjing, losing 21-11, 21-11. China were in total domination as they also filled the three other semi-final berths. Youngster Wang Lin will take on Zhu today for a place in the final, while another last-four clash features reigning world champion Zhu Lin and Jiang Yanjiao. Jiang had a great match yesterday when she ousted Beijing Olympics silver medallist Xie Xingfang in straight games.
