Hiker on Sai Kung trail collapses and dies

An man collapsed while hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park and later died in hospital yesterday. The 69-year-old man, surnamed Wong, was hiking with more than 10 friends along the MacLehose Trail in the country park. They reached Long Ke at 12.17pm when he complained of feeling unwell. Police called in a Government Flying Service helicopter to fly him to Eastern Hospital, where doctors declared him dead at 1.41pm.
