Investment consultant jailed for fraud

A former Sun Hung Kai Commodities investment consultant was jailed for four years yesterday for defrauding four clients of HK$3.56 million. Poon Ting-kei, 30, had pleaded not guilty in the District Court to three counts of fraud. In passing sentence, Deputy Judge Amanda Woodcock said the crime was a scam built on a web of lies. The Securities and Futures Commission banned Poon for life in January.
