The temperature might have taken a dip but that's not stopping Sian Katherine O'Brien from launching her own line of itsy-bitsy Brazilian bikinis called Clube Bossa Nova. The Hong Kong-based British-born designer threw a provocative fashion show for her sexy swimwear on Thursday night at Solas, using many of her own pole-dancing friends as models.
'I don't like skinny runway models,' O'Brien said, even though she used to be a lingerie and swimwear model. 'The concept of my line is to have women of all shapes and sizes be able to wear something they feel sexy in.'
One reason behind O'Brien creating the custom bikini collection is that she found she frequently couldn't find anything to fit her western figure in Hong Kong. The first collection is now done, just in time for, er, spending winter on the beach? 'I thought it would be appropriate as most people travel and go on holidays this time of the year. Moreover, with Christmas around the corner, it could be a nice idea to give a bikini as a present.'
We're not so sure many boyfriends would do that. However, judging by the flirty fashion show presented on Thursday, even though not every girl was tall and tanned and young, it seemed to us that when they passed, each man went aaah!
