Public laments loss of modern landmarks

The former Star Ferry Pier in Central, Queen's Pier and Kai Tak Airport are the landmarks whose loss the public most laments, a survey of 334 people this month by RTHK and Shue Yan University has found. The public also missed the Lee Theatre, Tiger Balm Garden and Lai Chi Kok Amusement Park. But Lingnan University history professor Lau Chi-pang said the top sites had a relatively short history and scored high because they were well known.
