Senoritas bare all (almost) in aid of cancer charity

Inspired by the British movies The Full Monty and Calendar Girls, members of the Spanish Speaking Women's Association have bared themselves for a calendar to aid the Breast Cancer Foundation. Spearheading the effort was Itziar Yturriaga, wife of the Spanish trade commissioner. Choosing the charity was a no-brainer for her because six years ago she had breast cancer and required a mastectomy. Now free of cancer and after reconstructive surgery, Yturriaga (pictured below) joined 11 other senoritas for a tastefully covered shoot by another association member, Barbara Lecoanet.
'Last year, Itziar convinced a lot of the girls to do The Vagina Monologues in Spanish,' gallery owner and Ms June (pictured), Sofia Gaspar, explained in place of Yturriaga, who is in India. 'After that, she asked everyone to do a calendar, like in the movie Calendar Girls, featuring everyone from all walks of life. At the beginning some were worried that 'I don't think my husband would like this' but we decided we would cover ourselves. Overall, it was a fun.' Gaspar spruiked the HK$150 calendar at last night's Spanish Chamber of Commerce dinner at the Regal Hotel. Sadly, as evidence that the disease is all too prevalent, her mother in Spain was about to have an operation for breast cancer as the dinner was taking place.
