Chest bug strikes 21 at home for elderly

Upper respiratory tract infections struck 21 people in a Tai Po home for the elderly early last month, the Centre for Health Protection reported yesterday. They were 16 residents and five staff - nine men and 12 women aged 43 to 99. Three were admitted to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital and one had been discharged. All of the patients were in stable condition. The centre urged the public and institutions to maintain good hygiene.
