Property complaints up 6pc

The Estate Agents Authority said it received 644 complaints last year, an increase of 6 per cent on 2007. However, only 30 per cent of the complaints, which mainly involved failure to follow sales procedures, and misleading clients with false information, were found to be justified. The authority said it would waive the licence fees for all local property agents in the first half of this year and improve training.
