Strike a balance between study, rest

Form Five and Form Seven students are busy preparing for their public examinations.

They are under great pressure because the exam results could affect their future. They spend a lot of time on revision and tackling past papers.

But, it is important they have enough rest to be ready for future challenges.

First of all, they should draw up a timetable, setting aside time for rest. They should stick to the schedule if they want to achieve their goals.

Secondly, if they face difficulties, they should seek help from their parents, teachers or friends.

Thirdly, students should support each other and try to gain maximum advantage from this. They can do revision together and help those who have problems with their studies.

This can help improve their academic results as well as boosting their friendship. Overall, students should strike a balance between studies and relaxation.

Follow the rules

Many students ignore school regulations. For example, they dye their hair or go to school with wild hairstyles. Some boys wear earrings.

They may think it is cool to break school rules. This attitude puts more pressure on teachers and spoils the school's image.

Rules are based on common sense and safety.

Better communication with teachers will help students understand the reasons behind the rules and ensure they do as they are told.

Rules are rules, so please follow them.

It's a lovely life

We must have a goal, no matter how old we are. Otherwise, we will lack the energy to do anything and lose our way in life.

I used to be unhappy. But now that I know what I want to achieve, I am more confident and I love my family, friends and teachers.

I cherish the time we spend together and I'm positive about the future. Life is full of opportunities and we should make full use of them.

Genius at work

There is a saying: 'Genius is 1 per cent inspiration and 99 per cent perspiration.'

There aren't many brilliant minds in the world today. This is because a lot of people don't believe they can become a genius.

But they are missing a crucial point. A genius is driven by hard work. Perspiration is more important than inspiration.

So, starting from today, we should work harder and try to become a genius.

A chilling reminder

I love winter because it is the most romantic season. But, according to scientists, we may not have a winter in future because of global warming.

Greenhouse gases are causing the polar caps to melt while temperatures are rising around the world.

A person produces an average of 2.25 kilograms of pollutants every day, some estimates have revealed.

It is time to save our Earth. We can play our part by being eco-friendly in our daily lives.

Food danger

Illegal additives in food are causing concern among locals.

Food safety is an important public health issue and we should get as much information about it as possible. At the moment, we are not getting that.

Under current regulations, it's hard to detect food additives. When they are detected, it's often too late.

Also, the government department responsible for inspections lacks manpower and resources. The authorities should work with the food industry to strengthen the law and clamp down on the culprits.
