The 14-year-old daughter of an immigration officer yesterday leapt to her death from the balcony of the family's Chai Wan flat on the third day of her school exams. Heather Lam Wai-yin, a Form Three student at St Paul's Secondary School, was found unconscious outside a residential block in Lok Man Road at about 5.30am. She was declared dead at the scene. A police spokeswoman said the girl had been unhappy because of her studies. School principal Deborah Wu Shui-fung said she was shocked and saddened by the death because Heather was a cheerful and helpful student.
