Cold climate can't curb Hong Kong

You can't escape the economic slowdown these days, but the JB Group Classic proved companies are still willing to put sponsorship dollars behind the world's best players. Nearly 30 companies had a presence in Victoria Park.

'This event allows us to demonstrate our international image and entertain clients in a great atmosphere. This event also helps Hong Kong maintain its place as a world-class city,' said Mark Brisson, managing director of Guardforce, who enjoyed the Williams-Zvonareva clash with his eight-year-old son, Marcos.

Among fans donning ski hats, gloves and blankets, Brisson seemed unfazed by the weather.

'The fact Hong Kong has been so cold this week and the event has been enthusiastically supported shows Hong Kong people never give up. Hong Kong will survive the current cold economic climate.'
