Proving former tennis players can still make a racket, Kristin Goodridge is the vivacious voice of tennis for NOW TV.

Teaming up with Steven So, the former top 40 player has commentated on the tournament for the past four years.

'I love the mix of players,' she said. 'You get the superstars and the up-and-comers. I like that blend. Tennis is normally such an individual sport, and this is a team event. It's nice to see the girls come together and enjoy themselves in the lead up to the Australian Open.'

Goodridge came to Hong Kong in the mid 1990s due to a coaching exchange programme between the Australian Institute of Sport and Hong Kong's equivalent organisation. When not commentating, she runs Australasian Tennis Aces, and has a team of coaches working with her.

'I must admit, like Venus Williams who doesn't want to retire, I didn't either. I was supposed to be at the Olympics in Atlanta, but watched it from a hospital bed. But when you attend a tournament as good as this, as a former player, it makes you wish you were still out there on the court.'
