Legionnaires' disease confirmed
The Centre for Health Protection said further laboratory tests had confirmed that water samples taken from a jacuzzi at Club Siena, Discovery Bay, contained the bacterium that causes legionnaires' disease. A 38-year-old man who developed the disease after using the club last month was in stable condition. The centre's hotline had received 66 inquiries, of which 40 were from people who had used the clubhouse. None had symptoms.
