Sony Vaio P-series
While Sony didn't invent the notebook, it is certainly trying to re-invent the category with its new Vaio P-series.
The first thing you'll notice about the P-series is its stretched out 8-inch display offering a maximum resolution of 1,600 x 768 pixels, which makes it like a larger version of the 3-inch display on the PSP.
The display might seem a bit squashed to new users, but it actually fits two full webpages side-by-side at maximum resolution.
The P-series has a seriously sleek and ultra portable look and feel. It weighs less than a kilogram.
It comes with a full feature set, including a 60GB hard disk drive, 2GB of RAM, wireless LAN 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth. Sony also promises integrated mobile broadband - or 3G.
The Vaio P-series is available in two models (1.33GHz and 1.6GHz Intel Atom processors being the main difference), and runs Windows Vista.
The models are priced at HK$5,980 and HK$7,980. Pros: high resolution, wide display, sleek and ultra-portable design, full featured specs Cons: slow processor for low-end model, runs performance intensive Vista
