Sat, 2pm, Vodka Bar

Not long ago we previewed the Heterogenius parties staged by DJ Forest, the affable Australian whose events have had quite an impact on our nights out in Hong Kong.

But it seems the support of the Post's gigs pages wasn't quite enough for the man also known as Alex Playsted, as he is packing up his record box and relocating to Melbourne after a successful few years in which he established himself as a promoter and multi-award-winning DJ.

Forest (above) is planning a suitably large farewell party at the Vodka Bar in Central where he and a dozen other DJs will be dropping a wide variety of music ranging from house to drum 'n' bass.

To accommodate such a massive lineup, the party will kick off at 2pm on Saturday and go through to the early hours of Sunday.

'It really will be a marathon,' Forest says. 'I want to give a warm welcome to my favourite local DJs and their incredible music collections, and it will give us a chance to explore different moods and sounds. There will be rare groove, funk, indie, house, disco, breakbeat, tech house and anything else that suits, including Billy Ocean and Lionel Richie, of course.'
