Quieter holiday for emergency rooms

The Lunar New Year saw a 1.3 per cent drop in the number of people seeking help at the emergency rooms of public hospitals, compared to an 11.4 per cent increase last year, the Hospital Authority said. An average of 5,508 patients a day visited emergency rooms from January 25 to 28, slightly less than the 5,580 from January 1 to 24. Tseung Kwan O Hospital saw the biggest drop (7.9 per cent), but 7.9 per cent more patients went to Queen Mary Hospital.
