ONE of Britain's biggest building groups, Trafalgar House Construction (THC), has opened an office in Tokyo in an attempt to win a slice of Japan's burgeoning public works programme.

The firm will concentrate on three main markets: general contracting, project management for firms investing in Japan, and the importation of specialist building materials including steelwork, ornate plasterwork and high quality joinery.

In Hong Kong, THC has worked with Mitsui and Nishimatsu on several major projects.
