5pc of numbers registered in anti-spam push

Less than 5 per cent of landline phone numbers have been registered to block pre-recorded junk messages, a year after the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Ordinance went into effect, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Rita Lau Ng Wai-lan told lawmakers. Only 3.5 per cent of cellphones had been registered to block junk text messages.
