More than a dozen business entities with addresses registered in Hong Kong have been named as victims in the alleged Bernard Madoff scandal, according to court documents.

Details of the businesses and of their exposures to Madoff were sketchy. However, some of the firms that were named share the same registered addresses.

HCM Weber and HCM Weber #2 are on the Hong Kong Gold Coast.

Impact Design and Telford have the same registered address in Standard Chartered Bank building in Central.

Kesagami, Nona International and Zest Asia Pacific have the same registered address in Silver Fortune Plaza in Central.

And there are also firms with similar names, including Rhineland International A and Rhineland International B, and Sapphire Trustee and Sapphire Trustee #2.

Madoff, a prominent Wall Street figure who had been chairman of the Nasdaq Stock Market, was arrested in December after allegedly confessing to his sons that he had bilked investors in what the United States authorities say may be the largest Ponzi scheme ever.
